Complaints Regarding Distance Education
Students should first address complaints to the school within Columbia where she/he is registered. Policies and procedures specific to each school are provided below:
Schools with Distance Education Programs | Website |
Columbia Video Network (CVN) within the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science | https://cvn.columbia.edu/content/distance-learning-student-complaints |
School of Professional Studies | http://sps.columbia.edu/student-life-and-alumni-relations/distance-education-students |
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences – M.A. in Statistics | http://stat.columbia.edu/ma-programs/student-policies/ |
School of Social Work | http://socialwork.columbia.edu/online-campus-student-complaints/ |
If the resolution to school based policy and procedure as well as appeals process remain unsatisfactory, the complaint may be appealed, within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made, to the SARA portal agency in New York. Grade grievances and student conduct matters are not within the purview of the New York portal agency.
